Bill Wilcox

I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. And the most important day of my life happened during my freshman year at Bakersfield Junior College when a friend shared the gospel with me. After a short time, I finally agreed to go to church with him and I prayed to receive Jesus Christ into my life. Jesus came into my life, and I have never been the same since. Shortly after that, I adopted as my favorite verse of Scripture, Philippians 1:21: For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

From Bakersfield, I continued to Long Beach State where I graduated in 1976. During those college years I met Tina, the wisest and most spiritually minded woman I had ever encountered. We were married in 1977 when we were both full-time missionaries with Campus Crusade for Christ (now known as Cru). God called us to seminary and so in 1980 we left Bakersfield for Fullerton, where I attended Talbot Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity degree.

We have been blessed with three children whom we love deeply. And three grandsons who bring us great joy. We have been in Yucca Valley since 1997 when I was called to be the senior pastor of the Yucca Valley Evangelical Free Church. In addition to my pastoral duties, I have also served as the president of the Morongo Basin Evangelical Pastors Fellowship for the last 23 years. I am passionate about the unity of the Body of Christ!
